Status Updates

Completely ok with the Neal trade. Took too many bad penalties at the worst times. No composure when he needed it.

Game 3 Preview: Carolina Hurricanes at Pittsburgh Penguins

Game 2 Preview Pittsburgh Penguins Carolina Hurricanes

The hurricanes will blow into Pittsburgh tonight to take on the Pens in the third game of the season in what is sure to be an entertaining and exciting game.

Jordan Staal will once again face his old team but its a case of "if you're not with us, then you're against us". Sorry Jordan, you may always hold a special place in Pittsburgh but only when you aren't playing against us.

Heres how things look for tonight

The Penguins are 2-0 on the season and having been playing well albeit against opponents who aren't at the top of their games. Marc-Andre Fleury has done well in the net allowing 1 goal in his 48 shots faced. The lines have all been playing well together although the Malkin line has had to work a bit harder to find some chemistry with the absence of James Neal who is still week to week with an upper body injury. Kris Letang is also still out of the lineup with a lower body injury.

The Canes are 1-0-1 after a win against the Flyers and tough loss to the Red Wings in OT. The Canes will be playing without Tuomo Ruutu (lower body), Tim Gleason (concussion), and Joni Pitkanen (broken left heel bone). Cam Ward will get the start in net tonight and has at times proven to be a tough man to beat. Expect the Pens to test him early.

Tonights game should prove to be a tougher opponent than the previous two and will give us a chance to see the Pens system at work with more pressure on.
